The tradition of kavod hamet “respect for the dead” has been a part of Jewish culture since biblical times.  In keeping with this tradition Temple Sinai shortly after its’ Establishment obtained land in Palms Memorial Park, and consecrated the land as a Jewish Cemetery.  Sinai Memorial Garden is located in Palms Memorial Park (see map below), which is on Fruitville Road and Honore Road.  Our cemetery allows the family the preference of a traditional burial space or a cremation space.

Many of us have made “Pre-Need” arrangements in order to provide our family with peace of mind and to relieve them of a financial burden, however, if we have not included provisions for burial we have not finished our task.

People usually do not like to think about death, but the loss of a loved one is a tragedy every household will experience at some future time.  When that time does arrive families are often poorly prepared to deal with the problems and cost that a death forces on them.

Sinai Garden allows for traditional burials as well as burial for those who choose cremation.  The Garden provides for flexibility with several different ways for a family to be together.

q       A single grave site can facilitate a single casket, two (2) cremations or a single casket and a cremation

q       We also have small cremation spaces for a single urn in a single space with a companion urn that serves as a marker as well.

If you make your wishes clearly known in advance, your spouse or children will never have to ask….”Did I do the right thing, and did I do what they would have wanted?”

Some people have purchased plots in cemeteries located in cities where they came from, but there are advantages in being buried here:

q       The spouse or family does not have to make burdensome funeral arrangements with two funeral homes or make travel arrangements while grieving.

q       It is significantly less expensive than paying for the services of two funeral homes and the shipping of caskets.

q       You chose to retire and settle here for a reason.  Why not remain here with your local and Temple family?

Costs are given below:

·        Single gravesite:

o       $1500 for members of Temple Sinai payable over 2 years

o       $2500 for non-members payable up front.

·        Cremation site:

o        $750 for members of Temple Sinai payable over 2 years

o       $1500 for non-members payable up front.

All plots must be fully paid prior to interment.  Perpetual care is included in the above prices.  Headstones and other burial items are additional and may be purchased from Palms Memorial Park .  No other plantings, shrubs, or ornaments are permitted except by written permission of Palms Memorial Park and Temple Sinai Cemetery Committee.

If you have any questions, or wish to visit Sinai Garden , please call the Cemetery Chairman Ken Kaufman, 748-1129.
