Send a Card

This only takes a couple of minutes and will touch the heart of a soldier overseas.

If you go to this web site, www.letssaythanks.com,  you can pick out a thank
you card and Xerox will print and sent it to a Soldier that is
currently serving in Iraq.  You can't pick out who gets it, but it will go to
some member of the armed services.  How AMAZING it would be if we could get
everyone we know to send one!!!  This is a great site.  Please send a card.
It is FREE and it only takes a second.  Wouldn't it be wonderful if the Soldiers
received a bunch of these?  Whether you are for or against the war, our guys
and gals over there need to know we are behind them.
Social Action

Our social action activities include, but are not limited to: our annual blood drive; on-going contributions to The Mayor's Feed the Hungry Campaign; Social Action Shabbat, to promote awareness of congregational and individual opportunities to perform mitzvot; annual Seder of Hope for those who are impacted by HIV-AIDS; and Mitzvah Day - a day when the entire congregation volunteers to help others in our community.  Collection of hearing aids and eyeglasses for the Lions Club.  HIPPY book collection (Home Instruction for Parents of Preschool Youngsters) and reading tutor program.

Our Mission Statement

We as Jews are commanded to pursue justice, and to participate in Tikkun Olam "Repairing the World". The Temple Sinai Social Action Committee seeks to involve the congregation in serving and empowering those who are disadvantaged or in need. We wish to educate and motivate congregation members, and provide avenues for adults, youth, and children to do Social Action.

The Social Action Committee sponsored the Connie Zingerman Super Food Drive during the High Holy Day season.  Shopping bags distributed at the end of both morning services on Rosh Hashanah were collected on Yom Kippur morning.  Feeding the needy of Sarasota is both a wonderful way to observe the beginning of a new year and to make your contribution to those that need your help.
