Volunteers are the lifeblood of Temple Sinai. Without a large, vibrant, committed group of volunteers Temple Sinai could not function. Employees of Temple Sinai make up only a small portion of the total number of hours devoted to keeping Temple Sinai the vibrant religious and cultural organization that we value. Our volunteers include the Temple President and Board of Trustees, the President and Board of the Women of Sinai, the President and Board of the Men’s Club and a myriad of other positions too numerous to cover.
There are volunteers required at all levels of expertise and time commitment. These opportunities include bringing to bear your particular professional specialty such as legal, financial, engineering, data management, etc. Opportunities also exist for those with culinary skills such as bakers, cooks, etc. We also get help for activities such as envelope stuffing, mailings, preparation of handouts, table setup, etc. etc, etc. The list goes on and on.
We cannot thank our volunteers enough. We honor them at a special Shabbat service but that is not enough. Volunteers work together with our clergy and employees to create a sacred community. For them we offer the prayer:
Praised are you, Adonai our God, Ruler of the Universe, who sanctifies us through mitzvot and has commanded us to engage in the needs of the community.
