Who We Are!
Temple Sinai is a Reform Congregation and culturally diverse community of close to 500 families. We are an egalitarian congregation, dedicated to offering a spiritual home and social advocacy in a warm and welcoming environment.
The Temple welcomes families and individuals who have a wide spectrum of backgrounds, ideas, levels of knowledge, and observance. Although many of our members were raised in the Reform Movement, a significant number come from more traditional households, while others came to Judaism later in life, either alone or with a Jewish spouse and family.
Our Shabbat services are engaging and inspirational. Rabbi Kahn and Chazzan Abramson are masters at designing a liturgical experience that is challenging and enlightening. The worship experience is participatory, featuring contemporary liturgy and uplifting music, both features that are unique to our Temple.
Temple Sinai instills a love of Torah, provides an environment of lifelong learning, and encourages its members to explore, to challenge and to grow. It is a spiritual home for those searching to find 21st century meaning in an ancient tradition.
We support a vibrant Jewish living and learning program series for children, teens and adults of all ages. The Temple offers a comprehensive educational curriculum beginning with The Gan, a NAC accredited early childhood learning center. It also offers an ARJE Religious School, a Bar/Bat Mitzvah Program, Tenth Grade Confirmation, NFTY affiliated Youth Groups and many Adult Learning Opportunities.
Temple Sinai is located in Sarasota on a handsome nine acre campus, housing a complex that includes The Sanctuary, social hall, classrooms, gift shop and offices.
Temple Sinai is affiliated with The Union for Reform Judaism and is a member of The Jewish Federation of Sarasota-Manatee County.
