Rabbi Geoffrey Huntting Endowment Fund and

Life & Legacy

We are excited to announce that in the spring of 2017, Temple Sinai joined forces with 10 area Jewish organizations in the Life and Legacy program of the Harold Grinspoon Foundation.  This is a 4-year partnership program in conjunction with the Jewish Federation that provides training, support and incentives to promote after-lifetime giving.  At Temple Sinai, we have dovetailed the Life and Legacy program with pre-existing Rabbi Geoffrey Huntting Endowment Fund, consolidating our efforts to provide a secure Jewish home for generations to come.

As of mid- year, 2019, nationally the Life and Legacy program has touched 58 communities with 629 partnering organizations.  Almost $928 million dollars of future gifts have been secured for the Jewish community with 25,000+ legacy commitments.  The Harold Grinspoon Foundation has committed $30 million dollars over 10 years to the success of this initiative.

We are thrilled that the Sarasota-Manatee community was selected to be a part of this opportunity and that Temple Sinai was accepted as a local partner.  Longtime Temple Sinai member, Gisele Pintchuck is the liaison at Federation linking our community and the Foundation.

Collectively, by year end 2019, the Sarasota/Manatee organizations had secured over 600 Letters of Intentwith an estimated value of over $18 million dollars.  You too can be remembered forever at Temple Sinai with a gift from your will, trust, retirement account or life insurance policy.

Be a part of securing the future of Temple Sinai by participating in our Life and Legacy program.  Our team members are Kathy Bernstein, Cookie Bloom, Janine Cohen, Mark Criden, Rich Greenspan, Ken Kaufman, Laurie Lachowitzer, Elana Margolis, and Daryl Worobow.  We will be forever grateful to Mark Richmond (z’l) for his endowment efforts.
